“Perhaps one of the city’s most influential and long-lasting sounds, Spam Allstars is finally bringing some new beats to our booties…[Trans-Oceanic is] …every bit as awesome as they already are.” – Prism Creators of Culture
Spam Allstars have a new album, Trans-Oceanic, and they are celebrating its release with a live show at the Bandshell. Check out the band, and grab a copy in person! DJ Le Spam will spin throughout the evening too.
Trans-Oceanic was recorded at City Of Progress Studio in North Miami, produced and mixed by Le Spam, and mastered by Mike Fuller at Fullersound. Released on their own Spamusica Records, the recording was made around a very busy studio expansion and schedule, continued active performance calendar by Spam Allstars including visits to Mexico and South Africa, and new live projects with two different symphonies – Nu Deco Ensemble and New World Symphony.
Trans-Oceanic features Le Spam on drum machines, samplers, keys, guitar, bass; Chad Bernstein on trombone, background vocals; Tomas Diaz on percussion and vocals; Jose Elias on tres and guitar; AJ Hill on saxes, keys and lead vocals on Satellite; Ted Zimmerman on trumpet; Steve Welsh on saxes; Mercedes Abal on flute, background vocals; and Drum loops played by Brendan Buckley and David Goodstein. Special guests include Phil McArthur on bass; Adam Zimmon on guitar; Papa Malik Faye on Djembe; Sam Barsh on Arp, Organ; Lazaro Alfonso on Congas; Sonyaisi Cordon on vocals; Juan Carlos Valdivia on violins; Eduardo Rodriguez on congas; and Aaron Lebos on guitar.
